My Brother Has A Great Heart
There are some in the Eureka Springs community that say Christians have no right to speak out against the homosexuals. Some claim that the Bible is a myth and that there is no god. And yet, they try to use the Bible as a weapon against what the Christians say. They repeat quotes that they assume are from the Bible without ever having read the Bible to see what the context of the verses is, or perhaps have not ever even read the words they are repeating. Some of them use the name of Jesus to declare Christians as hateful if they call homosexuality a sin. I would like for them to show me where in the Bible it says that sexual relations between two men or two women is anything other than sin.
There are some in this Community who claim to be Christians and yet, they do not speak out against sin. For them, it is more comfortable to believe in tolerance. It seems that they will believe what others tell them the Bible says instead of going to it to see for themselves if what they are being told is actually true. I would like for these people to show me in the Bible anywhere that says we should be tolerant of sin.
There are some in this community that want to give a message of love not hate. They say that if you are too harsh, no one will listen. They use this as an excuse to avoid the issues of our society. My issue is not hating the people that are living in sin…my issue is loving them so much that I do not want them to suffer eternally, and I would like to see them have the peace and comfort that Christ can give them right now. What kind of love would allow you to sit back and do nothing while your neighbor knew nothing about the penalty of sin? I would like for someone to show me in the Bible where it says this.
Perhaps the fact that no one on either side is reading the Bible is the reason why Christians are being mocked and ridiculed, and we can’t even agree on what sin is. How sad. How disappointing we must be to God as He watches us.
Christians have become complacent and cowardly. We have allowed God to be reduced to a few Bible verses that others use to control the “religious hate mongers”. We have given in to a society that openly kills unborn children, yet will do everything in their power to save a dying breed of insect. We have allowed sodomy to become so “normal” that we believe the lies of those that live this way. We have even begun to believe that everyone will go to heaven, as long as you’re “good” and you “love” each other.
We have become comfortable in earthly things and do not want to be thought of as “hateful”. We tolerate sin because we are more concerned with our checkbooks and our position in life.
If you are a Christian, did you not hear Him tell you to take up the cross? Do you not feel the need to declare His glory so that those who are lost will find true peace By being tolerant of sin, you are being selfish. You could be withholding eternal life from those that do not know Jesus Christ.
